What to expect when adopting a Minuet from Lil Lisset's Minuets
By Lil Lisset's Minuets · Updated October 8, 2026
Adopting a Minuet from us starts with a conversation. Join the waiting list on our Contact page and we will share upcoming litters, available kittens, retirees and shows.
Our kittens are raised in our home among our kids, grandkids and dogs, so they arrive well socialized with a good temper. We send updates on their progress while you wait.
Every kitten is TICA registered and includes shots, a vet health check and parasite treatment. We back each kitten with a 1 year guarantee against genetic illness. You can read our purchase contract on the About page.
Reserve with a $100 deposit. Our recent Minuet kittens were listed at $2,000. Families often tell us how well socialized their kittens are, and we keep in touch long after pickup.
After your kitten comes home
We stay in touch after pickup. Many families send us photos and stories, and we love seeing them. If you have a question about your kitten's care, you are welcome to ask.
Meeting our cats
Visits are by appointment. If you are in or near Litchfield County, Connecticut, we can arrange a time to meet our family of cats and discuss which kitten is right for you.
The first step
Send a message from the Contact page or call (860) 736-3086. We reply with litter news, availability and next steps.
A realistic timeline
Every litter is different, so timing varies. Typically you join the waiting list, hear about upcoming litters, choose a kitten when available, place a deposit and then wait for the kitten to be ready to go home. We keep you updated throughout, so you are never left wondering how your kitten is doing.
Paperwork and registration
Every kitten is TICA registered, and families receive organized paperwork and health history. Read the purchase contract carefully before you commit; it is available through the link on our About page. If you have questions about any clause, ask us. We would rather you understand everything before you decide.
Preparing your household
Before pickup, gather the basics: a litter box and litter, food and water bowls, a scratching post, toys, a carrier and a bed. Cat-proof the rooms your kitten will explore. For a short-legged Minuet, add low steps to the sofa or bed. Make sure everyone in the home knows the plan for the first week.
Why families choose us
We are a small, family-owned cattery with over ten years of experience, and our kittens are raised in our home with children and dogs. Families tell us the kittens arrive friendly and well socialized. We are proud of that, and we stay in touch long after the kitten has settled in.
Questions to ask us
Ask about the parents, the kitten's personality, what the guarantee covers, what food your kitten is eating and how pickup or delivery works. Ask for photos and updates. A good breeder is happy to answer and will ask about your home in return.
Making the transition smooth
Keep your kitten in one room at first, use the food it already knows, and introduce family members and other pets gradually. Plan a veterinary visit during the first week. Give your kitten time and patience, and it will reward you with a lifetime of affection.
